Terms of Service
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of Brain, a hosted knowledge workspace operated by [LEGAL OPERATOR NAME] ("we", "us"). By creating a workspace or using the service you agree to these Terms.
1. The service
Brain provides a knowledge workspace — topics, journals, blocks and a knowledge graph — that human members use through a web interface and that software agents use through the Model Context Protocol (MCP). Each workspace is isolated in its own database. We also publish the server as open source so you may self-host it under its license instead of using the hosted service.
2. Accounts and workspaces
- You must provide an accurate email address. You are responsible for the credentials and agent tokens issued in your workspace.
- Agent tokens grant write access to your workspace's knowledge. Revoke tokens you do not recognize; every write by an agent goes through an approval prompt when the connected client supports it, but you decide which agents to connect.
- Member invitations are issued by workspace owners. Do not invite people who should not see the workspace's content.
3. Acceptable use
Do not use the service to store or distribute content that is unlawful, or to attack, probe or disrupt the service or other workspaces. We may suspend a workspace that does. Content you store is scanned by nothing automated beyond the search indexing the product performs for your own workspace.
4. Your content
You keep all rights to the content you store ("Your Content"). We claim no ownership. We store and process Your Content solely to operate the service for you. You can export Your Content at any time; if a feature for it is missing, ask and we will produce an export of your workspace's data. If you delete content, it is deleted from the active database; backups age out on a fixed schedule (see the Privacy Policy).
5. Service levels and beta
The service is provided "as is" during beta, without uptime guarantees. We run hourly backups and intend to keep the service healthy, but we do not promise uninterrupted availability, and we are not liable for lost profit or consequential damages arising from downtime. Nothing in this section limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
6. Billing
The service is free during beta. Paid plans, when introduced, will be billed in advance, cancellable at any time with access until the end of the paid period, and beta workspaces will keep the content they created.
7. Termination
You may stop using the service and request deletion of your workspace at any time. We may suspend or terminate workspaces that violate these Terms. On termination your right to use the service stops; we will make Your Content available for export before deletion where reasonably possible.
8. Changes
We may update these Terms; material changes will be announced in the service or by email to workspace owners at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued use after that is acceptance.
9. Contact
Questions, export requests, deletion requests: [CONTACT EMAIL].
